Mahima Sharma (Sandhya): A Journey of Vision, Courage, and Creation
Mahima Sharma’s early life and education were deeply rooted in the vibrant city of Bhubaneswar, Odisha, where she attended Kendriya Vidyalaya. Known during her school years as Sandhya, her name was later changed to Mahima following astrological guidance—marking not only a shift in identity but also the beginning of a powerful personal transformation.
Born into a humble middle-class family, Mahima exhibited a spark of creativity and innovation from a young age. Her natural inclination towards the arts led her to explore the world of cinema quite early. While still in Bhubaneswar, and at a remarkably young age, she worked with esteemed companies such as Eureka Forbes and BPL. It was during this period that she made her initial foray into the Odia film and television industry, appearing in multiple serials and films.
Though her on-screen presence gained recognition, Mahima’s true calling lay behind the camera—in direction and storytelling. However, during that era, opportunities for women behind the scenes in regional cinema were scarce. Undeterred by these limitations, she made a bold decision: to leave her comfort zone and journey to the City of Dreams—Mumbai.
What followed was a long, arduous struggle filled with challenges, but also immense
growth. In Mumbai, the city that would become her karmabhoomi, Mahima (Sandhya) began working as an assistant with some of the most renowned directors and writers in Indian television media. Through dedication, resilience, and sheer passion, she gradually earned her place in the industry—eventually becoming a Creative Director with several prestigious production houses.
Yet Mahima’s vision extended far beyond personal achievement. Fueled by her struggles and the lessons of time, she established her own production house—not just as a platform for her dreams, but also as a gateway for new, emerging talent to step into the world of creative storytelling.
